Colson BreakPoint Radio Feature Reaches Record Number of Listeners
"Though BreakPoint is one of only a few five-minute features still produced for daily release, its station count is at an all-time high," said Peggy Campbell, Christian radio expert and president, Ambassador Advertising Agency.
LANSDOWNE, Va., May 2, 2011—More radio listeners than ever want to hear from Chuck Colson about Christian worldview perspectives on current news and trends. A record number of Americans tune in each day to Colson's BreakPoint radio feature, now airing on more than 1,300 radio outlets that reach an audience of 2 million listeners nationwide.
"It's exciting to see a seasoned ministry not only continue to flourish after nearly two decades but to see it actually grow in impact," said Peggy Campbell, president of Ambassador Advertising Agency, which produces BreakPoint. "Though BreakPoint is one of only a few five-minute features still produced for daily release, its station count is at an all-time high.
In 2007, the BreakPoint organization also launched a one-minute companion broadcast, The Point. Now hosted by BreakPoint National Director John Stonestreet, The Point has reached an all-time high in listeners as well. The Point is carried by some 720 radio outlets across the country.
"We believe it's evidence that audiences, and station personnel who make decisions about programming for those audiences, desperately want the culturally-relevant, biblically-based perspective provided by Chuck Colson and John Stonestreet," said Campbell.
